Draft for attorney review
Submission and Development Permission
Draft version 2026-10-09-draft-1. Applies to the individual clip identified in your submission. Internal development permission is required to submit; future model training is a separate optional choice.
1. Material covered
The material is the video you select, its associated title, comment, event timestamp, outcome and expected-alert labels, and diagnostic metadata you provide. The clip is identified by its submission reference. This permission does not cover unrelated camera footage, your full phone library, or a continuous live feed.
2. Ownership and authority
You retain the rights you own in the material. You confirm that you own the recording or have authority to submit it for these stated uses, that it was lawfully obtained, and that your submission does not knowingly disclose confidential or prohibited content. You will not falsely claim permission from a person depicted or recorded.
Your confirmation is limited to rights you actually hold. It does not waive another person's recording, privacy, publicity, copyright, employment, or other rights. SightSweep may restrict or delete a clip if a rights concern arises and may require further documentation before an expanded use. Review faces, voices, plates, surroundings, file metadata, and visible screens before uploading.
3. Required internal-development license
By checking the development permission for this clip and submitting it, you grant SightSweep a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to securely receive, store, privately view, copy as needed for review, annotate, and analyze the material for debugging, evaluation, and internal regression tests. Necessary limited processing by hosting providers is included. Access is limited to authorized development personnel and service providers acting for these purposes.
This license does not permit a public gallery, sale of the clip, public advertising, identification of people for unrelated purposes, face recognition, or training a general-purpose third-party model. It lasts while the submission is retained for the disclosed purposes and ends prospectively when you delete the clip or otherwise validly withdraw it, subject only to applicable legal obligations.
4. Separate optional future training permission
If you separately check the future model-training choice, SightSweep may also use this clip and its reviewed labels to develop or improve SightSweep-specific detection or alert models, after confirming relevant SDK, platform, data, and privacy rights. This choice is optional and is not implied by acceptance of the beta agreement or the internal-development license.
The current portal does not train or change a model. An approval label records a developer's review decision only. Training methods, external processors, additional sensitive-data uses, or a materially different purpose may require new disclosure and renewed permission. This choice does not authorize sale of your footage or use in unrelated products.
5. Review and test separation
Tester labels are hypotheses. SightSweep may review, correct, or reject a label and may reserve some clips solely for evaluating future builds. A clip approved as a test example need not be used for training. Consent to training does not make a clip suitable for it. The present review queue distinguishes reviewed clips, approved tests, approved training candidates, and rejected examples.
6. No public use without another choice
Internal-development or future-training permission does not authorize public display of the clip, your name, voice, or likeness. Public demos and marketing require the separate Marketing Permission for that clip and any additional rights or releases needed for recognizable people, copyrighted audio, or confidential locations.
7. Withdrawal and deletion
You can change optional permissions in My clips. To withdraw internal-development use, delete the clip. Deleting the clip removes its video and feedback from current portal storage; a minimal permission and deletion event remains in your account history until account deletion. The portal does not currently create separate off-platform training datasets, marketing copies, or model updates automatically.
Before any future process creates derivatives or exports, SightSweep must maintain a record linking those copies to the source clip and support the disclosed withdrawal process. If completed training has produced non-identifying model parameters, removing the source may not remove its statistical influence. This is a limitation to explain for the actual process, not an irrevocable license to retain identifiable footage.
8. Retention and security
Completed uploads become inaccessible after 365 days, and incomplete uploads after 24 hours. Expired records are deleted during normal portal maintenance; physical deletion can follow the access expiry. You can delete earlier. The Privacy Policy describes access limits, provider involvement, and the limits of immediate backup erasure. Do not upload sensitive footage on the assumption that all security or bystander concerns have already been resolved.
9. Compensation and feedback
No payment or credit is promised for a submission unless separately agreed in writing. Your clip may not be selected. SightSweep may use non-personal feature suggestions under the beta terms without granting permission to use your footage for a new purpose. Nothing here assigns ownership of the recording.
10. Acceptance record
For each completed submission, the portal records your account and submission identifiers, agreement version, internal-development and rights confirmations, optional training and marketing selections, and acceptance time. Changes to optional permissions create new events. A permission withdrawal is not undone by a reviewer changing the review status. A new agreement version does not silently expand permissions already recorded.
